Man, woman arrested

Two people face charges following a disturbance in Tilbury on Thursday.

Police say officers were called about 2:40 p.m. to a residence on Pearl Street.

The officers learned a young woman and man were arguing, which escalated to the point the woman was assaulted, police say.

The officers confirmed the young woman had been released by the court on last October, with conditions prohibiting her from attending the address and prohibiting her from associating with the young man, police say.

A 16-year-old Tilbury woman is charged with failing to comply with a release order.

A 15-year-old Tilbury man is charged with assault and uttering threats.

Crash leads to impaired charges

An early Friday morning crash on St. Philippe’s Line has resulted in impaired charges against a Merlin man.

Police say the crash took place near Big Pointe Road about 3 a.m. A pick-up truck left the roadway and rolled into a ditch.

The officers arrived and located the driver. They believe he was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him.

A 20-year-old Merlin man is charged with operating a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit.
