Injured man found at Thameslea Plaza

Chatham-Kent police have released some details as to why part of Thameslea Plaza was cordoned off Wednesday morning.

According to police, a badly injured man was found in the parking lot near Dollarama about 5:30 a.m.

The man was taken to hospital locally, but was later airlifted to hospital in Windsor, where he remains in critical condition, police say.

“The investigation is in its preliminary stages and anyone who may have any information is asked to contact Det. Const. Mark VanderGriendt at 519-436-6600 ext. 80207 or markvan@chatham-kent.ca,” police said in a media release. “You can provide information anonymously by submitting a tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).”
