The clinic wraps up its seasonal services at the end of the day Friday, March 8.

The Seasonal Care Clinic located at the hospital in Chatham, is shutting its doors after today.

As for March 8 at 5:30 p.m., the clinic will be idled.

In November, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, in partnership with Chatham-Kent EMS, launched the clinic to provide timely clinical services to individuals with cough, cold and flu symptoms, and other minor ailments. The clinic’s temporary operation out of a mobile trailer at CKHA’s Chatham site emergency department was intended to provide care to the public if they did not have a family doctor or nurse practitioner or could not be seen in a timely manner health-care professional during the seasonal surge of cold, flu and respiratory illness.

During its inaugural operation, the Seasonal Care Clinic aided more than 1,500 individuals. This initiative contributed to conserving capacity and easing pressure in the emergency department at CKHA during months that typically see increased visits for seasonal illness and other mild ailments.

Both organizations look forward to continuing their partnership and collaborating in the future to address the care needs of the community.

With the closure of the clinic, anyone seeking non-emergency clinical services can visit your family doctor, go to a walk-in or virtual clinic, visit a pharmacist, dial 811 for telehealth, or go online at www.urgentcareontario.ca
