Threats, fraud and bail violations have kept the Chatham-Kent police busy over the last couple of days.

One of the incidents occurred at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Feb. 16. Police report that a man who was treated and discharged at the hospital was asked to leave the premises.

However, he didn’t and subsequently assaulted security and threatened to harm them, police say. He was detained by the security and taken to Chatham-Kent Police Serve headquarters when he was held for bail.

In another incident Feb. 15, police were called to Barth Street in Chatham at 3 p.m. to probe a complaint of a man uttering threats.

Officers discovered the 37-year-old man was already facing charges for uttering threats against a landlord. According to police, he was again arrested for uttering threats and held for a bail hearing.

On Thursday, police initiated a fraud investigation in Tilbury after a woman reported her wallet had been taken out of her vehicle. Several days later, the woman’s cards were used at two local businesses on Queen’s Line, police say.

After obtaining video surveillance from each location, police were able to identify the man. The suspect has been charged with two counts of fraud, two counts of use of a stolen credit card and possession of stolen property.

Officers also responded to two cases of failure to adhere to bail conditions on Feb. 15.

In Wheatley around 5:30 p.m., complaints were received about a man uttering threats on Erie Street North.

A 45-year-old man, known to police, was arrested for failure to adhere to bail conditions and uttering threats. He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

Another man loitering in front of the LCBO store on Wellington Street in Chatham was charged with failing to comply with bail conditions.

Known to police, the suspect was under a court order to not attend the LCBO. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
