As the snow falls this morning, Chatham-Kent police offer several tips to drivers.

Prepare your vehicle: Check the condition of your vehicle and keep the gas tank at least half full.

Check the weather forecast: Be aware of the weather conditions and road closures.

Drive slower and maintain a safe distance: Reduce speed and increase the distance between vehicles.

Avoid sudden manoeuvres: Try to avoid sudden braking, accelerating, and turning.

Pass on snowy roads cautiously: Only pass when necessary and ensure clear visibility.

Use caution in inclement weather: Use headlights, wipers, and defrosters for better visibility. Clear all windows before driving.

Be informed and prepared: Listen to updates and carry a winter survival kit in your vehicle.

Remember, safety is the top priority when driving in winter conditions.
