Crash closes eastbound 401

Local OPP officers are trying to piece together what led to a transport rolling over in the middle of the night on Highway 401.

The crash occurred near the 116-kilometre marker on the highway at about 4:30 a.m., police say, in the eastbound lanes.

The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The eastbound lanes, from Orford Road to Victoria Road, are closed this morning as police investigate and the vehicle is removed from the scene.
