Want to meet a local author, discover your next great read or gain some writing tips? You’ll have the opportunity to do that and more at the Read Local: CK Author Festival Nov. 25.

Held at the Chatham-Kent Public Library’s Chatham branch, the event will showcase local authors. They’ll be on hand to meet readers, discuss writing, and sign and sell books. Their collective works cover many genres, from fiction to non-fiction to children’s book and those written for young adults.

The tentative list of authors includes April Adan, James McLean, Dawn Beecroft Teetzel, J.L. Meredith, Michael Dymond, Glenn Muller, Barbara Godin, Kate Smoak, David Alec Knight, Joanne Smolders and Fran Lucid.

The free event takes place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 25. At 3 p.m., CKPL will welcome Chatham-Kent author Susan Cullen, who will discuss her book “The World Collective.” Susan will share her writing experiences as municipal liaison of the local group of NaNoWriMo – a non-profit organization that helps people create and achieve their writing goals by providing tools, structure, community and encouragement.
