Public Health issues tattoo warning

CK Public Health has issued an advisory for people who may have visited an uninspected tattoo shop in Chatham recently.

Tattoos by Cienna at 211 Park St. in Chatham is the parlour in question.

Clients who have received a tattoo service at Cienna’s are potentially at risk of contracting a blood-borne infection, including HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C, according to CK Public Health officials.

Individuals impacted by this notice are advised to contact CK Public Health at 519-355-1071 ext. 2902 as soon as possible, as blood-borne infection testing is strongly recommended.

When considering a tattoo service, residents are encouraged to confirm that the business is inspected by the local public health authority, and compliant with infection prevention and control legislation and best practices.

In Chatham-Kent, inspection results can be reviewed by visiting Check It CK.
