Curb tapping leads to impaired charge

Scraping her tires along the curb led to a woman being charged with impaired driving Sunday evening.

An officer spotted a vehicle hitting the right curb on Wellington Street in Chatham about 7:20 p.m.

The officer pulled over the vehicle and believed the woman behind the wheel was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

A roadside breath test was administered. The woman was arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further breath tests.

Collision leads to impaired charge

A rear-end collision Sunday evening has led to an impaired charge against a Leamington man.

At 8:28 p.m., emergency crews responded to the Park Avenue and Lacroix Street intersection in Chatham for the motor vehicle collision.

Officers arrived on the scene and determined one vehicle had rear-ended another that was stopped at a red light.

Through investigation, officers believed the man who rear-ended the stopped car was driving while under the influence of alcohol. After receiving medical attention, the man was arrested and administered breath tests.

Domestic violence

Police got the call shortly after 10 p.m. to an address on Fraser Street for a disturbance.

When police arrived, they quickly learned Windsor Police Service had released a man on July 11 with conditions prohibiting him from communicating with the woman he was with. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
