B&E on Selton Line

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break-in Thursday afternoon on Selton Line.

Police say someone got into a home and took multiple items, including a battery charger, truck radio, and other items.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance and ask that you contact the Chatham-Kent Police Service should you have any information.

Obstruction

When you have a perfectly functioning bicycle, perhaps the best way to try to elude police is to pedal, not run.

Just explain that to a Wallaceburg man whom police say tried to flee on foot after he and a friend were pulled over early Friday morning.

Two cyclists were topped in Wallaceburg about 2:30 a.m. for having no lights on their bikes at nighttime. When stopped, one of the cyclists dropped the bike they were riding and began running away from officers, police say.

After a short foot, pursuit officers were able to catch the cyclist, resulting in him being placed under arrest.

A 24-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged for obstructing a police investigation, escaping lawful custody, and breaching his probation order. Through investigation, it was also learned at the time of arrest that the male party was wanted for similar offences in other jurisdictions within Ontario.
