Criminal harassment charges

A domestic disturbance investigation by Chatham-Kent police on St. Clair Street in Chatham Wednesday evening peeled back like an onion.

Through investigation, police learned of a series of incidents dating back to 2021 between a man and a woman. These incidents included break-and-enter into the woman’s residence, damage to her personal property, threats of harm and persistent unwanted communication, police say.

A 33-year-old Chatham man was located and arrested. He was transported to police headquarters and charged with break-and-enter, mischief, uttering threats and two counts of criminal harassment. 

Suspect arrested 5 months later

Chatham-Kent police report they’ve made an arrest in connection with a February theft investigation.

At 11:21 a.m. Wednesday, police located the man on Longwood Road in Chatham Township. 

Police confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant from a February 2023 theft investigation, and he was arrested. 

A 33-year-old Chatham man was charged with possession of stolen property. 

Scaring customers

A local woman faces charges after someone was screaming at customers outside a Grand Avenue business in Chatham Wednesday evening.

At 8:47 p.m., police responded to Grand Avenue East in Chatham for a disturbance. Police were advised a woman was in front of the business screaming and yelling, scaring customers. 

Police arrived on the scene and located the woman. 

A 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance.
