Chatham businesses hit by break-ins

Sometime overnight between Saturday and Sunday, someone broke into a Queen Street business by smashing the front window.

Once inside, the suspects were able to remove product from the store, according to Chatham-Kent police.

Also on the weekend, someone got into a restaurant on St. Clair Street via the drive-thru window.

Police say the thieves stole a laptop.

Another business on Queen Street in Chatham had their front window smashed around 5 a.m. Friday morning as well.

The suspects entered the business and fled prior to police arrival.

Officers attended the area and did not locate anyone.

Police are also looking for a lone suspect following a Friday mid-afternoon break-in on Faubert Drive in Chatham.

The homeowner returned to their residence to see a bike outside their house. A male suspect quickly hopped on and fled, police say, armed with property stolen from inside the home.

Officers failed to locate the suspect.
