What began as a traffic stop following a complaint turned ugly last night in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent police say officers responded to a traffic complaint on Lorne Avenue in Wallaceburg shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Information was received that the man was following the callers.
Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for bail violations.
The man attacked the officers as they attempted to arrest him, police say. A conducted energy weapon was deployed, and the man was taken into custody.
The man was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking, assaulting a police officer, and resisting arrest. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
