Weapons call in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent police received a call for a man walking down Canal Street East Tilbury  with a handgun on Sunday.  

The man left the area and returned 20 minutes later. The second time the complainant heard several shots. The area was contained and police located the man in an apartment in the area.  

The man was arrested without incident and charged with possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose.

Suspicious vehicle, multiple charges 

Two men face charges after an altercation on Lagoon Road Sunday near Blenheim.

A young male was approached by a vehicle with two young men in it at Lagoon Road, police say.  The interaction worried the young male and the police were contacted.  

The suspicious vehicle was located and two men spoken to. The two men were on conditions not to be around each other and were arrested. 

 Further investigation found the driver had been consuming alcohol.

The driver was charged with dangerous driving, impaired, and failing to comply with a recognizance.

The passenger was charged with failing to comply with a recognizance.

The interaction with the young male is still under investigation.
