In an attempt to introduce a variety of books to local readers, Chatham-Kent Public Library will be hosting a book sampling on May 13.

On that date, the Chatham branch will be transformed into a literary restaurant designed to give patrons a taste of a variety of different reads in a format similar to a five- course meal.

According to a CKPL media release, the initiative allows participants to sit down with staff and other patrons to enjoy titles they may not have tried otherwise.

“Just like with food, if you don’t try out different types of books, you will never know if you like them,” the media release states, adding the experience may “pique your appetite” for more.

The event begins at 11 a.m. Registration is not required.
