B&E charges
On Thursday, Chatham-Kent police responded to a break and enter in Howard Township where several tools were stolen from a garage, on two separate occasions.
Through investigation, police identified the man responsible.
On Sunday afternoon, police located the man, and he was arrested.
A 43-year-old Ridgetown man is charged with two counts of break and enter and being in possession of property obtained by a crime. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Crash leads to impaired charges
A Wallaceburg man faces impaired driving charges following a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening.
Shortly after 6:00 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Buckingham Road near Whitebread Line in St. Clair Township.
Through investigation, officers suspected the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol. A roadside breath test was conducted, and the man failed. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further breath tests, police say.
A 52-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
Minor injuries were reported in the crash. Total damage was estimated at $7,000.
Assault suspect apprehended
Lurking around a greenhouse earned a man a visit from police, and then a trip to police headquarters Sunday night.
Around 9 p.m., police responded to the report of a suspicious person in the area of a greenhouse in Camden Township.
Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was currently wanted for assault with a weapon causing bodily harm and uttering threats.
A 46-year-old man, of no fixed address, was released pending a future court date.
BB gun leads to charges
Just before 10 Sunday night, police received information that a man in the area of St. Clair Street in Chatham may be in possession of a firearm.
Officers flooded the area and located the man in a parking lot, sitting in his car. Through investigation, police determined that the man was in possession of a BB gun.
A 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Cops seek urn’s owner
On Thursday around 8:20 a.m., officers responded to the area of Grand Avenue East in Chatham, where an urn was located in the tree line.
The urn has a blue ribbon with the name Tara inside a heart pendant.
