A recent missing person investigation in Tilbury ended with a body and an arrest.
On April 19, Chatham-Kent police began their investigation into the disappearance of Daniel Marchand, 45, of Tilbury. He was last seen April 15.
The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation.
On Wednesday, the investigation brought officers to a residence on Dufferin Avenue in Tilbury. Police say they discovered Marchand’s body inside.
The coroner’s office was contacted and commenced a death investigation. The post mortem was completed a day later, and it was determined this was a homicide.
Police arrested at 32-year-old Tilbury man, Ken Baylis, and charged him with second-degree murder.
The accused has already made a court appearance, police say, and has been remanded until a later date.
