Assault suspect found in North Bay

At the end of November, Chatham-Kent police responded to an assault complaint on Pearl Crescent in Chatham.

Through investigation, police formed grounds to charge the man with assault. When the man could not be located, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Thursday morning, police here received a call from the North Bay Police Service advising they had the man in custody.

A 37-year-old North Bay man was arrested and charged with assault. He was released by the North Bay Police with conditions and a future court date.

Possession of stolen property…nearly 5 years later

On April 12, 2018, police responded to Kent Bridge Road in Howard Township for an abandoned running car in the carpool area.

Through investigation, police learned the car was reported stolen from Hamilton the day prior.

Police forensically examined the vehicle and collected DNA evidence. Analysis of the evidence identified the suspect.

When the man could not be located, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Thursday, shortly after noon, C-K police received a call from the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service advising they had the man in custody.

A 25-year-old Munsee-Delaware man was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.

He was released by the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service with conditions and a future court date.

Skipped out on court 

Thursday morning, at about 11 a.m., an officer spotted a man on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg while on general patrol. The officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court, and he was arrested.

A 27-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and released with a new court date.

That night, shortly before 9 p.m., also in Wallaceburg, while investigating another matter on Warwick Drive in Wallaceburg, police located a woman wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

A 38-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and released with a new court date.
