Break & enter charge
Chatham-Kent police responded to a business on Selkirk Street in Wallaceburg for a break-and-enter in progress shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Police arrived on the scene and located the man on the property.
Police also confirmed a window had been broken at the business.
He was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
A 25-year-old Walpole Island man was charged with breaking and entering.
Full cart, full charges
At 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham for a theft complaint.
Police learned a woman left the store with a cart full of merchandise and made no attempt to pay for it. The woman was observed entering a vehicle and leaving the area.
Descriptions of the woman and her vehicle were provided to the police.
Through investigation, police identified the woman.
At 1:34 p.m., the woman was located and arrested on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.
A 24-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with theft and possession of the stolen property.
Drunk in public
At 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a Tim Horton’s on Third Street in Chatham for a disturbance.
Police arrived and located the woman, whom they say was intoxicated.
A 30-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
