More than four months after a local man was struck and killed on Highway 40, the OPP have released an image of a vehicle they say was seen in the area at the time of the tragedy.

Matthew Hewer, 41, of Chatham, died Sept. 19 after being hit sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Highway 40 between Pine Line and Eberts Line.

The OPP asks for the public’s help in identifying the driver of the vehicle in this photograph.

Investigators are looking to speak with anyone that may have observed or operated a dark-coloured vehicle, possibly an SUV, northbound along Hwy. 40 at that time.
