Window broken, man charged

A Chatham man has to answer to charges after someone broke a window Thursday afternoon.

Chatham-Kent police responded to a call on Ursuline Avenue in Chatham about 1:15 p.m. for a report that someone chucked an object at a window, breaking it.

A 44-year-old Chatham man was located a short distance away and arrested. He was charged with mischief.

Caught in the act

A local man faces charges after police found someone cutting wires from an air conditioning unit Thursday afternoon.

Police got the call shortly after 1:30 p.m. for a report of suspicious activity around a vacant home on Dufferin Avenue in Chatham. Officers learned the location had been the target of thefts.

Police arrived and located the man in the process of cutting wires.

A 20-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with mischief.

Warrant arrest

A woman was identified in a theft investigation that occurred on Sept. 21 on Longwoods Road in Zone Township.

On Thursday afternoon, shortly after 1:30 p.m., police located the woman on Mary Street in Chatham and arrested her.

A 51-year-old Chatham woman was charged with theft and possession of the stolen property.
