Scout hut vandalized  

It seems someone broke into the Bothwell Scout Hut recently.

Chatham-Kent police got the call Saturday evening that someone broke into the Elm Street building, doing about $800 damage in the process.

Nothing is reported stolen.

Gone clubbing  

Despite the fact golf season is pretty much over, someone walked off with a set of golf clubs Saturday.

Police got the call shortly after 8 p.m. of a break in to a garage on Wellington Street in Chatham. Sometime overnight, someone stole a set of golf clubs.

Slap unhappy

On Friday morning, shortly after 9 a.m. police were called to an address on Fourth Street, Chatham for a complaint of an assault.  

Investigation revealed a man approached a group gathered outside his window and slapped one of the men because he was upset for being woken up.  

A 35-year-old Chatham man was charged with assault, and later released from custody with a future court date to answer to the charge. 

Breach of conditions

Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday morning, police pulled a vehicle over on Albert Street in Wallaceburg.

A 26-year-old Dresden man, who was known to police, was found to be in breach of his curfew condition.  

He was arrested, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and lodged for a bail hearing.

ATV stolen

Police have their eyes out for a stolen ATV.

They got the call on Friday to an address on Cedar Hedge Line regarding a theft.  Someone stole a 2000 Polaris ATV, black in colour, sometime between Nov. 1 and 3.

Impaired charges

A Thamesville man faces impaired driving charges after someone was reported asleep at the wheel Friday night in Chatham.

Police say they got the call about 11:30 p.m. Friday to Lorne Avenue. Officers say the driver was unconscious, but then woke up and started to slowly drive away.

Police intercepted the vehicle and arrested the driver for being impaired.

A 31-year-old Thamesville man provided breath samples over the legal limit, police say. He has been charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus).
