Roadside death remains a mystery

The identity of a person discovered dead along Highway 40 on the outskirts of Chatham on Sept. 19, remains a mystery.

The police are continuing to investigate the death and are looking for the public’s help.

Officers with the OPP would like to speak with anyone who may have observed a northbound white hatchback passenger vehicle, or who may have seen someone walking along the side of the road, between Pine Line and Eberts Line between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on that fateful morning.

Anyone with information regarding the person, or persons responsible for this incident should contact OPP immediately at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
