Woman tackled, man charged

A Wallaceburg man faces charges after someone tackled a woman there on the weekend, according to Chatham-Kent police.

Officers attended a residence in Wallaceburg for a domestic incident on Monday, at 12:30 p.m.

Through investigation, police learned on Sunday, a man and woman engaged in a verbal argument, which escalated when the man attempted to stop the woman from leaving by tackling her. The woman sustained a laceration near her eye, police say.

Early this morning, police say officers located the suspect and he was arrested.

A 38-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with assault and forcible confinement. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Boat and Trailer Sometime overnight, on Monday, a green, Outboard 14-foot aluminum boat and a black two-wheel trailer were stolen from a St. Clair Street address in Chatham.

The boat contained a black 2010 14hp Mercury motor.

It was last seen bearing the hull number ON2153190.

The trailer was last seen bearing plate number J1071C.

TrailerSometime overnight, on Monday, a white, 15-foot, 2019 Legend dual axle enclosed trailer was stolen from a Howard Road address in Chatham.

The trailer was last seen with a “Cutting Edge Insulation” decal on the side and license plate number S9567X.
