Angry outburst leads to charges

Last night at 7:42 p.m., Chatham-Kent police responded to a domestic disturbance on Baldoon Road in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned a man had been released by the court in mid-March with conditions not to communicate with a specific woman.

The man contacted the woman, engaged in a verbal argument with her over the phone, and told her he would be arriving at her location, police say.

A 29-year-old Dover Township man was located and arrested for failing to comply with a release order, uttering threats, criminal harassment, and an outstanding warrant for a previous incident. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Traffic stop leads to impaired

Early this morning, at 1:24 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Alexandra Avenue in Chatham when the vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed.

When stopped, police believed the driver to be under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested. The man was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

An 18-year-old Blenheim man has been charged with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
