COVID continues to be a problem at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Chatham site.
CK Public Health on Tuesday declared two areas of the hospital in outbreak, due to cases of health-care acquired COVID-19 infections.
The Complex Continuing Care Unit on the fourth floor and the Medicine B Unit are listed in outbreak.
As part of CKHA’s pandemic response action plan and in alignment with the hospital’s infection prevention and control guidelines, a number of additional initiatives have been implemented in response to the outbreaks in those units. CKHA will continue following these measures until CK Public Health rescinds the outbreak orders.
Despite the outbreaks, CKHA officials remind the community that the hospital remains a safe place to receive care. If you are experiencing an emergent acute care need, dial 911 or visit your nearest Emergency Department.
