Think COVID is over? Think again.

Chatham-Kent has seen three more deaths attributed to COVID-19 over the past two days, with 99 new cases reported over that same time period.

That’s an average of nearly 50 a day and is almost doubling the rolling seven-day average of 27.

As well, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance reports seven people are in hospital primarily due to COVID-19. However, none are in the ICU at this time.

Seven locations in Chatham-Kent are in COVID outbreak. The latest is another group home.

There are now six group homes, a retirement home and a long-term care facility listed in outbreak. The CKHA’s continuing care unit came off the outbreak board this morning.
