COVID-19 numbers are on the rise again in the municipality, pretty much everywhere except the hospital’s intensive care unit.

There is only one person in the ICU with COVID-19, according to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance figures.

However, 28 people have COVID-19 in the hospital, although only a quarter of them are there primarily due to the virus.

Overall, we saw 76 new cases from Monday, an increase of an average of 38 per day. The rolling seven-day average sits at 32.

There are seven areas of outbreak in Chatham-Kent, four new ones in the past two days.

Copper Terrace and three group home settings join two units at the hospital and the Oaks Retirement Village as areas in outbreak locally.

A reminder that the fourth dose of the vaccine is open to anyone aged 60 and up who is eight weeks removed from their third dose.
