One man, two arrests

On Wednesday at approximately 2 p.m., Chatham-Kent police responded to a theft complaint at a business on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg. A description of the man was provided.

Police searched the area and located the man a short distance away. The stolen property was in his possession, police say.

The man was arrested for theft and possession of stolen property.

At this time, police also responded to a residence on Camp Street in Wallaceburg for a mischief to two vehicles.

Through investigation, police learned the same man had attended this residence earlier in the day.

A loud crashing noise was heard, and the man was seen walking away from the vehicles.

A 25-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with an additional two counts of mischief.

Theft charges

Shortly after 6 p.m. last night, police responded to a bicycle being stolen from Wal-Mart in Chatham.

A description of the man was provided.

Police located the man and the bicycle was returned.

A 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with theft and possession of stolen property.

Early St. Paddy’s celebration?

Last night at approximately 10:30 p.m., police responded to a parking lot on Grand Avenue West in Chatham to assist a cab driver with an unruly fare.

The man was unco-operative with the cab driver and refusing to leave the cab.

Police arrived and learned the man was intoxicated and unable to care from himself. He was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place. He was transported to police headquarters and held until he was sober.
