As many COVID-19 statistics continue to trend downward, one keeps rising: the number of COVID-19 related deaths.
CK Public Health officials said three more people died recently of the illness, a man in his 60s and two women in their 90s. That brings the death toll here to 52 over the past 22 months. Nearly half of them have perished over the past month, however.
One passed away last week, and the other two earlier this week.
The rolling seven-day average of positive tests per day in Chatham-Kent is down to 38, while the number of places of outbreak dipped to five.
Two congregate living settings and three long-term care homes are still in outbreak.
Meanwhile, the number of folks hospitalized primarily due to COVID-19 sits at 10, up one from a day earlier.
Of the 10, six are not vaccinated, three are fully vaccinated, while one is partially vaccinated.
As well, four of the 10 are in the ICU.
