Drug charges

Last night, Chatham-Kent police located a woman on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Upon being searched incident to arrest, the woman was found to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl.

A 32-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been charged with three counts of drug possession. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Curfew breach

In early December, a man was released from court with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Last night, around 11:30 p.m., police responded to the report of an unwanted man in a home in Chatham.

A 26-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Collisions

Yesterday afternoon around 2 p.m., police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Pioneer Line near Bear Line Road in Dover Township.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $10,000.

The driver, a 17-year-old Scarborough teen, was charged with careless driving.

Yesterday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Richmond Street near Raleigh Street in Chatham.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $3,000.

A 20-year-old Chatham man was charged with start from stopped position – not in safety.

Driving while under suspension

Yesterday morning, a member of the Traffic Unit initiated a traffic stop on Fairview Line between Harwich Road and Mull Road.

The driver, a 42-year-old Chatham man was charged with speeding and driving while under suspension. His vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.
