COVID-19 claimed another Chatham-Kent life.

A woman in her 60s died in hospital outside of the municipality, making her the 31st C-K resident to perish from the virus since the onset of the pandemic in March of 2020.

CK Public Health numbers show 72 new reported cases of the virus in the past 24 hours in the municipality. The seven-day average is 83.

A total of 29 people are in the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with COVID-19, one of whom is not a local resident. Of those in hospital, 19 are unvaccinated.

We are down to six COVID-19 patients in the ICU, but five of them are on ventilators.

There are 85 CKHA personnel off work either due to contracting COVID-19 or because they have been potentially exposed to the virus.

As of Friday morning, the provincial government reported there were 2,472 people in hospital across Ontario with the virus, 338 of whom are in ICUs.
