A driver is fighting for their life following an early-morning two-vehicle crash on Highway 401 Monday.
Chatham-Kent OPP say the crash took place about 2:30 a.m. in the east bound lanes near the eastern edge of the municipality.
The collision involved a tractor-trailer and a cargo van. As a result of the crash, the cargo van rolled and came to rest in the ditch.
Emergency service responded and the lone occupant of the van was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Reconstructionists from the West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team attended the scene and are investigating the cause of the collision.
The investigation is in its early stages. Updates will be shared as they become available.
