A Thursday morning drug raid in Wallaceburg led to four people facing drug trafficking charges.

Members of the Lambton County Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) and Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau of the OPP, along with members of Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) Intelligence Section and Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) executed the search warrant at a residence on Dufferin Avenue.

Police say a quantity of suspected Fentanyl was seized with a total value estimated at $5,000.

Four people, a 30-year-old Sarnia woman, two Wallaceburg men, aged 53 adn 35, and a Wallaceburg woman, 33, all face possession for the purpose of trafficking charges.

Police say the search warrant is a result of investigations initiated due to the state of emergency declared by Walpole Island First Nation for the current drug epidemic.

Lambton County OPP continues to work in conjunction with Walpole Police Service to address the opioid-related crisis on Walpole Island.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Chatham-Kent police at 519-436-6600. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.
