Assault with an iPad

On Thursday morning, Chatham-Kent police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the Blenheim area.

Through investigation, police learned that during a verbal argument, the woman threw an iPad at the man.

A 21-year-old Blenheim woman was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.

Window damaged, cell phone snagged

Last night, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the man damaged a window in the home and grabbed the woman’s cell phone as she tried to call for help.

A 30-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with mischief under $5000 and interfering with the lawful use of property.

Booze stolen, property damaged

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a theft complaint at a business in Ridgetown.

Through investigation, police learned that the man attended the same business twice and stole alcohol. The man also damaged a window and front door of his home.

Officers located the man and he was arrested.

A 29-year-old Ridgetown man was charged with two counts of theft, mischief over $5,000 and failing to comply with his Probation Order by consuming alcohol. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Deer and cars don’t mix

Yesterday, police responded to two separate collisions involving deer.

No one was injured.

Motorists are reminded to be more vigilant on our roads, especially during dusk and dawn, which is when most collisions with deer occur.

Shoplifting

Yesterday morning, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at a local variety store in Chatham.

Officers located the man a short distance away and he was arrested.

The 51-year-old man was charged with engaging in a prohibited activity as per the Trespass to Property Act. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
