Suspicious licking

Yesterday morning, Chatham-Kent police responded to a suspicious person complaint at a business in Chatham. Prior to police arrival, the man attempted to enter the business, but was refused entry.

Through investigation, police learned that the man then began licking the door handle and wrote on the window, causing damage.

Other information was received, in which police learned the man also caused damage at another nearby business and threatened the manager the previous night.

Officers located the man and he was arrested.

A 35-year-old Chatham man has been charged with three counts of mischief and assault with a weapon. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Domestic-related charges

Wednesday morning, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that a man attended the residence and was refused entry.

The man then entered the residence by removing the air conditioner.

After a verbal altercation, police say he assaulted the female inside.

A 26-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with break and enter commit assault.

Warrants

Wednesday afternoon, police were on general patrol in the area of Park Avenue West in Chatham.

Officers located the man who was wanted for multiple robbery offences.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Yesterday evening, police located a man in Chatham who was wanted for criminal harassment and uttering threats.

A 19-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released pending a future court date.
