Domestic-related charges

Shortly after 11 p.m. last night, Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man attended the woman’s residence, regardless of being on conditions not to attend the address and being bound by a daily curfew of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

A 41-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Failing to comply

On June 25, a man entered into a Conditional Sentence Order with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to possess any weapons.

Last night, the man approached an officer in the area of McNaughton Avenue near Sandys Street in Chatham and disclosed that he was in possession of knives.

The man was detained and through investigation found to be in possession of two knives.

The 26-year-old Chatham man has been charged with failing to comply with his conditional sentence order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Theft of Tools in Blenheim

Sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, someone forced their way into a home under construction on Lanz Boulevard, causing about $2,000 damage.

Once inside, the suspect(s) stole power tools and light fixtures.

Electronics stolen

Sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, someone forced their way into a building near the Walter Hawkins Municipal Pool on Delaware Avenue in Chatham, causing about $200 damage. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole an iPad and various electronics.

Sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, someone entered a home under construction on McKinlay Road. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole an air exchange unit, valued at approximately $2,000.

Truck, tools stolen

Sometime between Aug. 15 and 18, someone entered a shed on Fairview Line and stole a blue 1989 Chevy 1500 pick-up truck. Various tools were also stolen.
