Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:
- Chatham-Kent – Rondeau Park
- Windsor – Leamington – Essex County
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 100 km/h, locally heavy rain, and isolated hail up to nickel size possible. A tornado cannot be ruled out.
Locations: Portions of southwestern Ontario.
Timing: This afternoon through to this evening.
Discussion: A few thunderstorms will develop early this afternoon before becoming more widespread by this evening. The predominant threat associated with these storms will be locally damaging winds and torrential downpours. Rainfall amounts may approach or exceed 50 mm locally by this evening.
