Six-year-old Elise Byskal, joined by her younger sister Athena, 2, was the youngest vendor and entrepreneur at the June 26 Summer Farmer’s Market at the Active Lifestyle Centre.

Byskal started her own venture of selling homemade lemonade when she was just five years old, but this year made the decision to sell pre-bottled Snapple due to the pandemic.

An assortment of micro greens, lettuce and tomatoes were some of the items 10-year-old Gillian Carter was selling at her stand June 26 at the Active Lifestyle Centre’s Summer Farmer’s Market.

Joined by more than 20 other vendors selling produce, food and more, the ALC will be having four other markets, on July 10 and 24, as well as Aug. 7 and 21.

While the threat of clouds loomed over the Active Lifestyle Centre’s Summer Farmer’s Market on June 26, it didn’t stop shoppers from visiting the event throughout the morning to shop local food, produce and goods.
