Six.

That’s the number of reported active COVID-19 cases in Chatham-Kent today, according to CK Public Health figures.

This morning, no new cases were reported over the past 24 hours, and five were deemed resolved.

However, of the six cases, two people are hospitalized with the virus.

Vaccination rates in the municipality have reached 66 per cent for first dose jabs, CK Public Health says.

As well 15 per cent have received their second dose.

Across Ontario, there were just 296 new cases reported since Monday. A month ago, that figure was in excess of 2,100.

Canada this week became the world leader in first-dose vaccinations administered among adults, with 65 per cent of eligible Canadians receiving at least one jab in the arm.
