Police recover $65K in stolen goods, $18K drug bust

The Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Unit recovered $65,000 in stolen property from across Chatham, Tilbury, Thamesville, Sarnia and Oxford County resulting in the arrest of a 39-year-old Chatham man and 37-year-old Chatham woman.

Earlier this month, members of the unit executed a search warrant at a residence and attached garage on Bloomfield Road in Chatham where they found the goods.

As a result, police recovered a stolen generator, ATV, Kubota tractor, utility trailer, propane cylinders and trailer with construction tools.

Police seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, Xanax and Adderall with a total street value of approximately $18,000. There was an additional eight counterfeit $100 US bills and Canadian cash found.

The man and woman have been charged with possessing counterfeit money, eight counts o being in possession of property obtained by a crime, and five counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking.

Both were released pending a future court date of April 29, 2021.

Theft of utility trailer in Wallaceburg

Sometime between Sunday at 5:00 p.m. and Monday at 9:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) stole a grey 2015 Legend utility trailer from a business on Murray Street in Wallaceburg.  The trailer was last seen with Ontario license plate M78 08W.
