The Municipality of Chatham-Kent’s Infrastructure of Bridges, Culverts and Roads Innovation Committee is recruiting volunteer citizens for appointment to the committee for the remainder of the 2018 to 2022 term.
The call is currently open and will close on April 12.
The purpose of this committee it to consider how the municipality can optimize investments related to municipal infrastructure through innovation. The committee reviews the processes related to setting priorities, procurement, financing, service level changes, investment, divestment, utilization of traditional versus new technology, legal liability and risk management considerations.
The committee considers how innovative measures can better address the financial gap in maintaining the things we use every day: roads, bridges and culverts; while still supporting the residents and taxpayers of Chatham-Kent. This is an advisory committee of council and as such makes recommendations to Chatham-Kent Council for consideration and implementation.
The committee is comprised of four members of council, four representatives from the agriculture industry and four infrastructure experts. Currently there are three vacancies for infrastructure experts and one for an agriculture industry representative.
Information such as the terms of reference and minutes of all of the meeting held to-date are available on the municipal website at www.chatham-kent.ca.
