For anyone panicking over childcare next week, there are options.
After the Ontario government issued the province-wide lockdown, it meant in-school child-care programs were suspended until Jan. 11 at the earliest, leaving care between Jan. 4 and 8 up in the air. Licensed child-care centres and home-based child-care remain open.
Municipal officials remind people the Ministry of Education has implemented a targeted emergency child-care program for school-aged children, at no cost to eligible parents, from Jan. 4-8.
For more information on emergency child-care locations, a list of eligible workers, and further information on how the province-wide lockdown impacts childcare, visit the municipal municipal website.
