B&E to sleep?

Yesterday morning, Chatham-Kent police responded to the report of a suspicious man inside a commercial property on Centre Street in Chatham.

The man was found sleeping on the third floor of the building.

A 38-year-old Moraviantown man was charged with break and enter.

Woman faces assault charges

Yesterday morning, Chatham-Kent police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman assaulted her boyfriend.

A 25-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with assault. She was released pending a future court date.

Forklift recovered

As previous released, sometime between last Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and Thursday at 7 a.m., someone stole a red Moffett forklift from Adams Industrial Forklifts on Richmond Street, valued at $20,000.

On Saturday afternoon, the stolen forklift was located near a farmer’s field in the area of McLarty Line and Scane Road in Howard Township.

B&E at Chatham Fuels

Shortly after 5 a.m. this morning, police responded to a break and enter at Chatham Fuels on Grand Avenue East.

Through investigation, police learned that someone was seen attending the business on a bicycle.

The suspect smashed the glass to the front door, entered the business and then quickly left.

Total damage has been estimated at $1,000.

Shoplifting leads to charges

Yesterday morning, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Wal-Mart in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman concealed jewelry and cosmetics in her coat.

She also removed the tags off a new pair of boots and walked out of the store wearing them.

Total value of the theft was estimated at $95.

The Loss Prevention Officer stopped the woman however she fled.

Police located the woman a short distance away and she was taken into custody.

A 22-year-old woman of no fixed address was charged with theft and possession of stolen property.

Theft

Last night, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Shoppers Drug Mart on Queen Street in Chatham.

Officers located the woman on Park Avenue and she was taken into custody.

A 36-year-old woman of no fixed address was charged with theft possession of stolen property.

Failing to attend court

On Dec. 2, police say a man failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Yesterday morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious person at the Via Rail train station on Queen Street in Chatham.

Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was wanted.

A 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to attend court. He was released pending a future court date.

Fail to comply

Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a family dispute in Harwich Township.

Through investigation, police learned that a man at the residence was breaching conditions of his Probation Order by consuming alcohol.

A 43-year-old Leamington man was arrested and charged with failing to comply.
