Pair temporarily eludes authorities
Around 1 p.m. yesterday afternoon, Chatham-Kent police responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Real Canadian Superstore on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the men fled on foot as they were placed under arrest outside the store by the loss prevention officer. The men were observed stealing about $90 worth of items and made no attempt to pay for the merchandise.
Police located the men a short distance away and they were taken into custody.
A 31-year-old man and 24-year-old man, both of no fixed address, have been charged with theft, possession of stolen property and escape lawful custody. They have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Domestic charges
Last night, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Tilbury.
Through investigation, police learned that a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation.
The 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous and forcible confinement. The man was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court to provide a DNA sample. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Fail to comply
On March 23, a woman was released from court with several conditions. Two of those conditions stated that she was to obey a daily curfew of 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. and notify police of any change in address.
Around 9:30 p.m. last night, police responded to a hotel in Chatham in regards to an unwanted person. Through investigation, police learned that the woman was no longer living at the last known address on file.
A 37-year-old woman, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with her release conditions. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Assault charges
Shortly after 3 a.m. this morning, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.
A 21-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with assault, assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000. He remains in police custody this morning.
Stolen vehicle
Late Tuesday night, a silver Acura that was impounded by police for 45 days, was stolen from Wallaceburg 24 Hour Towing on Lowe Avenue. The vehicle was last seen with Ontario license plates BDBZ 617.

Tools stolen
Sometime between Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Wednesday at noon, someone forced their way into a shed on Base Line and stole various DeWalt and Ryobi tools, valued at approximately $1,000.

Laptop stolen
Yesterday morning around 8 a.m., an unknown man and woman stole a laptop from a building at the Ridgetown College.

B&E in Wallaceburg
Sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, someone entered the Refind Charity Thrift Store on James Street. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole jewelry and clothes.

Yesterday morning, police arrested a man who was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions.
A 38-year-old man of fixed address was charged and remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.

Just before 2 a.m. this morning, police located a man in Tilbury who was wanted for breaching his Probation Order, being in possession of a stolen vehicle, driving while prohibited and failing to attend court. The man was arrested and further charged with failing to comply with his curfew. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
