Aggravated assault

A Chatham man faces aggravated assault charges following a fight that sent another man to hospital in Windsor.

On Tuesday night, Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that a fight between two men known to each other resulted in serious injuries.

The victim, a 67-year-old Chatham man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and later transferred to Windsor for medical attention.

Yesterday, a 41-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He was released pending a future court date.

Criminal harassment

Yesterday morning, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the Dresden area.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman attended the residence and drove her vehicle across the front lawn and collided with another vehicle.

The homeowner further reported that the woman had been harassing her and her husband.

A 42-year-old Thamesville woman was arrested and charged with mischief and criminal harassment. She was released pending a future court date.

Stolen truck in Dresden

Sometime between Tuesday at 1 a.m. and yesterday at 3 p.m. someone entered an unlocked building on Wellington Street in Dresden and stole a white 2016 Ford F-150 truck.

The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates BB66 990.

Stunt driving

Yesterday morning, an officer with the Traffic Unit observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Bear Line Road.

The officer recorded the man driving 136 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

A 45-year-old Blenheim man was charged with stunt driving.

The man’s license has been seized for seven days and his vehicle impounded for seven days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.
