Stabbing in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent police report a man was stabbed Sunday night in Wallaceburg.

A man walked into the hospital in Wallaceburg with a stab wound to his abdomen, which was non-life threatening, police say.

Information was received that he was stabbed at a house party (yes, a house party at a time when social-distancing rules are in effect). The residence was secured for further investigation and a 21-year-old Wallaceburg man was located and arrested. The man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and later released with a future court date.

Chase, break-in and more

An officer on patrol Sunday observed an abandoned vehicle on Talbot Trail near Morpeth with plates attached that were unauthorized. A short time later, two people hopped into the vehicle and the officer went to pull them over, but police say they continued on their way.

After a short pursuit, the vehicle was stopped without incident.

It turns out the pair were wanted in connection with a break-in

A 23-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property and possession of break-in tools.

A 26-year-old Thamesville man was arrested and charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property, possession of break-in tools, flight from police, dangerous driving, impaired driving and having more than the legal blood-alcohol limit in his system.

Both were later and released with a future court date.
