Letter rings familiar tone

Editor’s note: This letter is addressed to Naresh James in response to his letter, “the cult of efficiency,” in the Feb. 20 Chatham Voice.

Sir: Thank you for your wise words about the need for balance in life.

They have a familiar ring to them as an update on an old teaching from a Jewish carpenter who tried to warn people about the dangers of working to get everything in the world, while losing their well-being in the process. (Mark 8:36)

God bless you.

Catherine Wathy
