An altercation between acquaintances Friday led to assault charges.
Police say the incident occurred at the Spirit and Life Centre on Wellington Street in Chatham, where two men who know each other got into a squabble.
One man pulled a knife, pointed it at the other guy, and tossed a cup of hot coffee at him as well, police say.
Karma came to play that day, as police say when the man went to put the knife back in his pocket, he cut himself.
Officers tracked down their suspect a short distance away and made the arrest.
A 51-year-old Chatham man received medical attention and then got slapped with two counts of assault with a weapon.
