It took all of 90 minutes for Chatham-Kent police to arrest a suspect following a Friday morning bank robbery in downtown Chatham.
Police say a man walked into a bank in the downtown core – Scotiabank – and handed a teller a threatening note. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash and he fled the scene.
Officers investigated and quickly identified their suspect.
Police say the officers located him and made an arrest shortly after 1 p.m. A search revealed the stolen money.
A 53-year-old Chatham man is charged with robbery and being in possession of stolen property.
